CANINE COUTURE COLLECTION BUILDS ON A FOUNDATION OF DESIGN CREATIVITY AND PRODUCT EXCELLENCE
PHILADELPHIA - What started as a dog owner's labor of love has grown to become a preeminent force in the canine apparel marketplace. Canine Couture Collection, headquartered in Philadelphia, was founded by Suzanne Manolidis and Frances Robb about ten years ago, based on a special coat Suzanne designed for her mixed breed terrier, Vroma.
Unable to find the type of coat she wanted in the early 1990s for her 18 year old dog, she spent months cutting, sewing, ripping, and reworking fabric and patterns until she got what she wanted: a well tailored, warm and fashionable wool coat. Unfortunately, Vroma died and it would be another two years before Canine Couture Collection would emerge, turning Suzanne's self-taught design and production expertise to making coats for other dogs. Since then the company has prospered, and in ten years has become a leading force in the canine apparel industry.
Today, the company's apparel is sold at leading boutiques, upscale specialty shops and top department stores in the United States, Canada and Europe. The line has been expanded to include matching leashes, collars and harnesses as well as dog and people scarves, hand-painted display dogs and other accessories. The Canine Couture Collection has won critical raves from all quarters: consumers, retailers, and the press. Wrote one reporter, "The coats are oddly reminiscent of the ones little girls used to wear to The Nutcracker."
Consumers have had high praise for the company's canine attire, and typically send letters with pictures of their dogs in their Canine Couture Collection finery. Retailers typically laud the quality and originality of the dog coats, as well as the flexible fit and competitive pricing.
A large number of retailers have carried the Canine Couture Collection for many years and praise the company's designs, product quality, attention to detail and service. Notes the owner of an upscale New York boutique, "Each season, their line continues to exemplify the best that canine fashion has to offer, and they truly live up to their name."
In addition to the Classic Wool Coats™ available in three styles, the company offers its Pawsitively Precious in Pastel™ line, which includes another wool coat in pink with white faux fur lining and a pink rosebud. The Varsity Jacket™ is made of fleece, is reversible and available in a variety of two-color combinations as well as charcoal/gray and blue plaid. The Faux Leather line features two fabrics: Ostrich lined with faux fur and distressed lined with polar fleece.
The Braxton Barn Coat™ is made from an almost indestructible fabric, and is lined with polar fleece. It is available in four colors with a contrasting double stripe down the center.
